Oplight S ™The Oplight S combines a conventional self-retaining retractor with an add in light source. It directly illuminates the surgical cavity while holding open the incision. The unit comprises of a stainless steel reusable base and an LED light source cartridge which is disposed of after a single use. ![]() The Clinical ChallengeTraditional overhead lighting systems or head mounted fibre optic systems have limitations and are sometimes inadequate for surgery in deeper cavities where shadowing can be an issue and localised illumination may be required. Such systems can limit mobility due to cables or can be associated with head and neck fatigue for frequent or prolonged use. The Oplight S provides the solution by
combining retraction and illumination into a single device.
UseThe device can be utilised in any procedure where visibility of a deep cavity is required. Oplight S is ideal for procedures such as, but not limited to appendectomy, cholecystectomy, spinal, breast and axillary. Slide in light cartridgesLights operate independently to provide differential view. Can be replaced during surgery with retractor in situ The Oplight S cartridge is a single use sterile product, packed in units of two. The integral light guide maximises and directs light into the depth of the surgical cavity BenefitsEnhances visibility into surgical cavity without requiring additional wiring or cabling; releases surgeons from the requirement to utilise heavy and cumbersome head mounted light sources. ![]() Oplight 180™The Oplight 180 combines a conventional self-retaining retractor with an integral light source. The unit is made from biocompatible reinforced plastic with high mechanical strength and advanced LED technology. It is supplied in a sterile double bag for ease of use within the theatre environment. ![]() The Clinical BenefitDirectly illuminates the surgical cavity while holding open the incision. Single use may reduce the risk of cross contamination between patients. The lack of traditional stainless steel allows an uninterrupted X-Ray view into the operational area. Lights can be controlled individually to provide a differential view to add clarification if required The Oplight 180 provides the solution by
combining retraction and illumination into a single use device.
